Monday's intraday activity & its closes on the leading market indexes were impressive: it's called a "key reversal-day" on a bar chart and a "hammer" pattern on a candlestick chart. They suggest that an important near-term low was made.

BIG PICTURE this week so far - mkt ups and downs all in a sudden fast. but when mkt is up or down, the majority of tech names ups or down accordingly (except for AAPL for a day). This is coz trade deal and hearing uncertain. BUT today shows signal that differentiation will happen

GDX chart is still basing nicely. My near term predictions are basically educated guesses, but I think GDX is going to backtest the 100 dma going into the FOMC on the 19th (this is the part that I am probably not as sure about as far as a downside target, but I do think on net, gdx will be down into the FOMC). I think the FOMC is going to give GDX and gold a very quick (2-3 weeks max) pop for them to tag their respective 50 WMAs. That should mark the IC top.

I expect GDX to come back down to test the 100 dma once again and probably drop slightly below it at the next ICL. I am not expecting it to drop below $18.70 at the ICL, which I expect in late January, but its possible it drops to the low 18s. If it were to drop below the Nov 13 pivot at 18.26 it will be a terrible sign IMO. The ICL may not even drop below the low $19s though. I expect that low to be hit in late January. That should mark the last buying opportunity before GDX quickly vaults to $23.

I don't think the 2016 high will be broken for good for 2-3 years though, although we could test the high well within 2 years. Once GDX leaves the 2016 high behind for good I expect it to move parabolically over the ensuing 2-3 years. I am expecting a target of $200-300 before a major top is put in.

$spx key support below is 2646. if can hold, back up all the way. if can't, 2633 2621. know the risk. spy puts already paying double.

AMZN falling wedge forming on daily chart. only concern here is sharply downward 5ma (which means need a big bottom stick today for pattern reversal) AND mid bb still downwards. IF both happen, pretty high chance see falling wedge b/o. but if fails, 1634 1622 1614 possible.

Dec 10th Cycle Low for #Stocks is about what I expected. In time for a big holiday and Jan rally. If that happens, big question mark on next Cycle and if it can go on. I'm skeptical there.

Big red candle on daily chart of so many names with gap filling down. if we don't see them pulling back up with long bottom stick, no good for tmr as very likely see lower low. if conclude with long bottom stick today, tmr may even gap up. so watch how mkt goes this pm.

IF we do not rally soon(I do not think it is possible with 21 dec gov shutdown pending) the market goes to preellection lows, nov 2016,say by,by to Trump rally

Judging from some emails and conversations with traders, seems like more people are worried about missing a rally than worrying about more downside. That's complacency in my view.

The most bizarre price action occurred in gold and silver between 10 and 11 am est. Price literally flatlined for over an hour. While you can see stuff like this after the NY close sometimes, for it to happen during NYMEX hours is absolutely crazy.

The divergence between GDX and silver miners and some of the weaker gold miners has been dramatic over the last couple of months and that doesn't seemed to have reversed itself yet.

If GDX weakens into the FOMC, it might get pretty ugly for these weaker stocks (at least marginal new lows).
